About Us​


The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Woodlands Health offers a full spectrum of services across Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery and provide a range of conservative and surgical treatment options.

Our orthopaedic team diagnoses and treats a wide array of bone, joint, ligament, and tendon conditions. Through close collaboration with clinical and allied health professionals, we ensure holistic care to optimise patient outcomes.​

We treat patients young and old for various accident-related injuries, from minor falls to major car accidents.

Our services include minimally invasive surgery, managing fractures in older adults, treating multiple injuries, revising previous trauma surgeries, and correcting limb deformities after trauma.

Our multi-disciplinary team comprises surgeons, geriatricians, anaesthesiologists, radiologists, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists sharing a common goal of providing holistic care and achieving the best possible outcomes for patients.

Conditions that we treat include:
  • Poly-trauma
  • Pelvic and acetabular trauma
  • Geriatric trauma
  • Simple and complex fractures of the limbs
  • Post-traumatic limb deformities


We provide comprehensive care for various joint conditions, including degenerative joint disease, arthritis, infections, injuries, and deformities.

Our team stays updated on the latest evidence and surgical techniques, providing navigation/computer-assisted surgeries for hip and knee replacements. Specialised procedures include minimally invasive anterior total hip replacement and partial knee replacement.

Conditions that we treat include:
  • Hip and k​nee degenerative joint disease (osteoarthritis)
  • Inflammatory arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis
  • Avascular necrosis
  • Cartilage, meniscal and labral disorders
  • Bone deformities around the hip and knee joints
  • Revision replacement surgery for failed or painful joint related to previous joint replacement surgeries
  • Fractures with previous joint replacement implants (periprosthetic fractures)

We provide holistic care for sports injuries with our team of sports physicians and surgeons. From prevention to treatment, we support patients throughout their journey, enhancing athletic performance through nutrition and conditioning.

Conditions that we treat include:
  • Common knee conditions such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, other cruciate and collateral ligament injuries, tendinopathies, meniscal tears and cartilage lesions to complex knee conditions such as knee dislocations, patella instability, early osteoarthritis which may require osteotomies or re-alignment surgeries.
  • Hip conditions including femoro-acetabular impingements (cam and pincer impingement), labral tears, cartilage disorders and hamstring injuries.
  • Shoulder conditions including rotator cuff tears, cuff tear arthropathy, dislocation, instability, bursitis, impingement, acromioclavicular joint dislocations and frozen shoulder.
  • Elbow conditions including tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis), golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis), dislocation, instability, bursitis, osteoarthritis, stiffness and cartilage disorders.

We provide comprehensive management for hand conditions and traumatic injuries, aiming for optimal function and quality of life. Our team, including occupational therapists and prosthetists, collaborates to achieve the best outcomes. Additionally, we provide reconstructive surgery for both upper and lower limbs in coordination with a multidisciplinary team.

We treat a wide diversity of spinal disorders ranging from traumatic spine injuries to complex spinal deformity conditions. In tandem with modern spinal surgical advancement, we utilise minimally invasive techniques and computer-assisted navigation technology in order to enhance surgical accuracy and outcomes for our patients.

Our spine practice consists of a multidisciplinary approach involving our Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists, Orthotists and Pain Specialists so as to ensure holistic care and best functional outcome for our patients.

  • Prolapsed intervertebral discs
  • Degenerative conditions of the spine
  • Traumatic injuries of the spine resulting in:
    • Acute spinal cord compression
    • Vertebral fractures (including osteoporotic fractures)

We address diverse foot and ankle issues. With both non-surgical and surgical options, our multidisciplinary team, including podiatrists, orthotists, and physiotherapists, ensures holistic care. Additionally, we collaborate with reconstructive surgeons to offer limb reconstruction for complex trauma or deformities.
