How long have you been a Nurse?
I have been working as a Nurse Clinician since 2015, building upon my experience as a Registered Nurse since 2001. So, my nursing journey has spanned over 22 years now!
Tell us more about your current role.
I take on the responsibility of coordinating and evaluating patient care to ensure the highest level of delivery. This involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients throughout their outpatient journey.
What drove you to join healthcare?
After successfully completing my 'O' levels, my late mother encouraged me to pursue a role as a clinic assistant in a Specialist Outpatient Clinic (SOC), highlighting the job's stability within the healthcare sector.
Driven by my passion for teaching, I made the decision to embrace this opportunity and embark on a career in healthcare, with the goal of sharing my knowledge and educating others about patient care.
What is one thing that spurs you on at work?
Eager to learn new things in my job.
What is one thing about your job, that you feel is unknown or misunderstood?
People often perceive nursing as a messy job, but it is a truly invaluable profession that offers the satisfaction of caring for patients.
Can you share with us one or two memorable moments from your time in WH or healthcare?
Upon joining WH in 2019, I was invited to participate in NDP 2019, which became a truly memorable experience. Representing WH at NDP filled me with immense pride.

Embracing resilience and the challenges that accompany the job while seizing opportunities to learn new things.
What made you join WH?
I was eager to gain firsthand experience in participating in the planning of a new hospital.
What motivated you to stay on with us?
I'm approaching my fifth year at WH, the strong teamwork within WH SOC and the support of my colleagues have been significant motivators for me to stay on.
What advice would you offer to other nurses who aim to make an impact in the healthcare sector?
Keep an open mind and embrace constructive feedback as a means to continuously enhance your nursing skills.
