SINGAPORE, 17 May 2024 – Residents living in Singapore’s Northern region requiring emergency and acute medical services can visit Woodlands Health (WH) Campus for treatment.
Minister for Health, Mr Ong Ye Kung, visited Singapore’s newest integrated healthcare campus today, touring its Emergency Department, Operating Theatres and integrated acute and community wards.
WH will have 430 acute and community hospital beds by end May 2024. It offers a comprehensive range of acute, sub-acute, rehabilitative and transitional care services in one integrated healthcare campus.
This includes an emergency department and other critical care functions such as the Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Centre, Diagnostic Radiology and Operating Theatres. These services are in addition to the community hospital beds, specialist clinics, allied health and pharmacy services that opened in December 2023.
Seamless transfer of care
WH’s integrated care model is reflected in the design of its campus. Acute and community hospital wards are located in the same building to enable the seamless transfer of care. The one hospital setting also enables the care team to take a holistic view of a patient’s medical needs and be actively involved in a patient’s journey across medical specialties and different care settings.
The Emergency Department is connected vertically via a trauma lift to other critical care functions such as the Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Centre, Diagnostic Radiology and Operating Theatres for speedy patient care, especially for those with urgent life-threatening conditions.
Wide range of specialist care
WH also offers a wide range of specialist outpatient services including gastroenterology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology (ENT) and urology, to meet the needs of the residents. These are in addition to the services (such as endocrinology, geriatric medicine, rheumatology, medical psychiatry) that opened in December 2023.
WH’s specialist clinics are supported by radiology, rehabilitation and pharmacy services in the same building. A full list of clinical services is available at www.wh.com.sg.
In addition to the Medical Centre, the campus encompasses the integrated acute and community hospital, a long-term care tower and is integrated with Woodlands Healing Garden.
Woodlands Health is located at 17, Woodlands Drive 17, Singapore 737628. Residents who wish to make an appointment at WH can call 6363 8000 (8am to 5.30pm Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 12.30pm on Saturdays) or email [email protected].
