About GPFirst

Launched in September 2020, the GPFIRST programme aims to encourage residents to visit their General Practitioner (GP) first instead of going to the Emergency Department (ED) if they are suffering mild-to-moderate or non-emergency conditions so that they can be cared for more promptly. This will also allow emergency care teams to focus on life-threatening emergencies such as heart attacks and strokes.

Patients who are referred to the Urgent Care Centre (UCC) at Admiralty or the nearest Emergency Department by participating GP clinics, will be accorded a S$50 waiver on prevailing attendance fee at either locations.

"With GPFirst and a nearby Urgent Care Centre, my patients benefited from the easy access to urgent X-rays, lab tests and even simple surgical procedures. Importantly, the cost is kept affordable for most. GPFirst programme is well thought out and well run!"
